A small but dedicated group of water buffaloes once again working to exceed last year's attempt to build and compete in
NURC. Seeking a water tigh bot has been elucive in prior years, but hopes spring eternal.
A word about controls: in 2009 we experimented with using a Wiimote for control of the bot; we will stay with this control
process for the 2010 season. It has tested effective on a land-based frame with great success, but we are still experimenting
in the underwater environment.
In the area of frame construction, we have been experimenting with the use of 80/20 extruded metal for framing. This has
given us great flexibilty in design and fabrication and will be used once again for one of the two bots we are creating this
year, the first being a "scout vehicle." The second bot, which will be our primary recovery vehicle, is designed as a take
off of the "Adam" ROV used by the Titanic recovery vehicle.
